A STATEMENT FROM DEVAL PATRICK ON THE KILLING OF GEORGE FLOYD AND COUNTLESS OTHERS:
“RACISM RUNS DEEP IN OUR COUNTRY. PURGING IT IS A MATTER OF SIMPLE JUSTICE. THE VIOLENCE IN MINNEAPOLIS, LOUISVILLE AND OTHER AMERICAN CITIES LAST NIGHT IS TERRIBLE, AND MUST STOP. AT THE SAME TIME, THE PROLONGED VIOLENCE AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE AND BLACK COMMUNITIES ALL ACROSS AMERICA IS SHAMEFUL AND MUST ALSO STOP. THERE MUST BE ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE COURTS FOR THE SENSELESS KILLING OF GEORGE FLOYD, OF BREONNA TAYLOR AND TOO MANY OTHERS.
